The Victaulic system is an innovative, universal and comprehensive solution for joining grooved pipes with clamps and fittings already prepared for assembly.
It saves money as well as time and is customer-friendly, fast and simple system, which doesn’t require special assembly tools, other than the wrench handle and an anchor key.
Characteristics:
Victaulic is the fourth method for joining pipes, after welding, flanged joining and threaded joining. It is used since 1925 on pipe work, in corporate buildings, shipyards, military, mines, industry and different applications all around the world. Pressure ranges can be much higher than on flanges, the weight and dimensions of clamps are in the class between one third and one half with regard to comparable flanges. The number of component parts is considerably lower.
Victaulic is ideal for use in fire-prevention systems, water supply systems, water installation, sanitation, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, lubrication systems, industrial lines, snowmaking, water treatment, refineries, power plants.
Clamps consist of a two-piece housing (up to 14” or DN350), two screws and a gasket. The gasket has an internal chamber, which the medium pushes towards the end of the pipe. This means that the sealing effect increases with the increase of pressure. This characteristic assures high pressure classes with high safety factors.
Lastly, a comprehensive, reliable and simple method for joining pipes made of carbon and stainless steel, copper, aluminium and other materials with diameters ranging from ¾” to 60” and more reduces the necessary work force by at least 50 % and drastically lowers the number of issues concerning assembly and pre-preparation, including the related costs.
Advantages in comparison to welding:
• The connection is created 5-times faster and the speed increases with the size of the diameter and the pipe thickness,
• Possibility of subsequent dismantling of the connection (assembly/ disassembly, system modifications, system control…)
• Welding control isn’t necessary (photo, X-ray, ultrasound).
